Hello! Thank you for your comments and emails on our February Focus blog titled:
INSPIRING KIDS TO T.H.I.N.K USING KIND WORDS
If you haven’t read it, you can click on the link below to check it out. Today we talked about it again as a family during our morning devotional time and I introduced our February Heart Garland to visually track the actions we are taking to positively display the power of our words! We spoke about the quote by Joyce Meyers that says:
Words are containers for power, you choose what kind of power they carry!”
We used containers to demonstrate what kind of words we would use to display our SUPERPOWERS! It was a fun and memorable way to talk about why it’s important to choose our words wisely.
This month my husband Marcos and I will be giving the kids hearts with the words: true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, kind and loving (this last one is not part of the T.H.I.N.K strategy I mentioned in my last post but we thought it was both perfect for this month and appropriate for what we are learning). Each child picked a color or two for themselves and even mom and dad will have a color. When we catch them using “kind” words they’ll receive a heart to hang. We will be listening for each of these types of words that empower and encourage.
